Support for individuals and families when they need it most.
Hyde Hope Haven of North Carolina provides advocacy, resource navigation, volunteer assistance, education, and practical support. Our goal is to help people understand their options, connect with available resources, and move forward with dignity and hope.
Family Advocacy and Resource Navigation
Hyde Hope Haven provides individualized advocacy and hands-on support to individuals and families navigating difficult situations, complex systems, and barriers to needed services.
We help clients understand their options, organize records and documentation, prepare for important meetings, communicate concerns effectively, locate appropriate resources, and connect with agencies, organizations, attorneys, and other professionals when needed.
Our advocates can help clients identify problems, develop an advocacy plan, document communications and events, ask informed questions, and pursue appropriate next steps rather than leaving families to navigate complicated systems alone.
When appropriate and authorized by the client, Hyde Hope Haven may also communicate with agencies and service providers on the client's behalf or alongside the client, request information, help clarify concerns, participate in meetings, and assist with referrals and follow-up.
Our purpose is not simply to hand someone a list of resources. We work alongside people as they navigate the process—helping them find answers, understand their choices, and advocate for themselves and their families.
Hyde Hope Haven does not provide legal advice or legal representation. When a matter requires professional legal assistance or another specialized service, we help clients identify appropriate resources and referrals
Child Protective Services (CPS) Accountability Program
Hyde Hope Haven's CPS Accountability Program supports families navigating Child Protective Services while promoting transparency, accountability, due process, and fair treatment within the child welfare system.
We help parents understand the CPS process, document agency actions and communications, obtain and organize records, prepare for meetings, identify applicable policies and procedures, and advocate for clear answers when decisions affecting their families are made.
When families raise concerns about inconsistent information, procedural failures, lack of transparency, questionable agency practices, or potential violations of their rights, we help them document those concerns, identify appropriate complaint and oversight channels, and seek meaningful review and accountability.
Our work is grounded in a simple principle: protecting children and respecting the rights of families are not opposing goals. A child welfare system works best when decisions are evidence-based, procedures are followed, families are treated fairly, and government agencies are accountable for their actions.
Hyde Hope Haven is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice or legal representation. We provide advocacy, education, documentation assistance, resource navigation, and referrals, including referrals to attorneys when legal representation may be appropriate.
Operation Kindness
Operation Kindness brings neighbors together to provide practical, hands-on assistance to individuals and families who may be struggling because of age, disability, illness, injury, financial hardship, family crisis, loss, or other difficult circumstances.
Through the generosity of volunteers and community partners, assistance may include yard work, minor home projects, cleaning and organization, moving furniture, grocery pickup, transportation, accessibility assistance, storm cleanup, and other practical needs.
Operation Kindness is built on the belief that sometimes the difference between feeling overwhelmed and finding hope is simply having someone willing to show up and help.
Services are provided based on the nature of the request, available resources, volunteer availability, and our ability to safely complete the requested work.
Emergency Assistance
Hyde Hope Haven recognizes that unexpected circumstances can quickly place individuals and families in crisis. Through our Emergency Assistance program, we work to identify immediate needs, available resources, and practical solutions that may help stabilize a difficult situation.
Depending on available resources and individual circumstances, assistance may include connections to food, utilities, clothing, transportation, emergency necessities, housing resources, community programs, and other forms of short-term support.
When Hyde Hope Haven cannot directly provide what is needed, we work to identify other organizations, programs, churches, agencies, or community resources that may be able to help.
Emergency assistance is provided as resources and funding allow and is evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Submission of a request does not guarantee financial or material assistance.
Parenting and Family Education
Hyde Hope Haven is committed to helping parents and caregivers build stronger families through education, practical support, skill development, and access to appropriate parenting resources.
Our goal is to connect families with educational opportunities and resources that strengthen communication, positive parenting practices, family stability, problem-solving skills, and healthy parent-child relationships.
As this program develops, Hyde Hope Haven intends to offer additional parenting education and family-support opportunities, including structured classes and workshops as qualified programs and trained facilitators become available.
Families seeking parenting resources or education may contact Hyde Hope Haven for assistance identifying available options and appropriate referrals.
Community Resources & Referral Support
Hyde Hope Haven connects individuals and families with local, regional, state, and nonprofit resources that can help address immediate needs and support long-term stability.
We assist with identifying resources for needs such as food, utilities, housing, transportation, healthcare, legal services, domestic violence support, employment, senior and disability services, family support, and other community needs.
Resource navigation goes beyond providing a phone number. We help people identify appropriate programs, understand available options, locate application information, gather necessary documentation, and determine practical next steps.
When one resource cannot meet a need, we work to identify additional possibilities and referrals. Our goal is to help people spend less time searching for answers and more time connecting with services that may actually help.
